Good education is, in essence, formation for life. Our philosophy of education at Dominion begins with that end in mind. Preparation for a student’s future study at the university is an integral part of our end, and we take seriously our commitment to prepare our students well.
Organization of a college admissions portfolio begins freshman year with thoughtful consideration of potential schools and intentional shaping of the beginnings of a resume.
During the sophomore year, students take part in a college road trip during the spring semester to better understand the breadth of their options.
By junior year, students sit under the mentorship of our guidance counselor who walks each one through an individualized process of planning for applications.
Senior year, in the thick of applications and essays, our head of school, guidance counselor, and rhetoric teacher work together with students to ensure an excellent caliber of applications. Our hope is to send each one of our students to a college or university that is uniquely suited to his or her needs. We desire to see our students continue to pursue truth, beauty, and goodness at the university and ultimately for the whole of life.
