Admissions FAQs

We are pleased to continue to receive applications on a rolling admissions basis. Please call our admissions office at (703) 758-1055 or email our Admissions office at admissions@dominionschool.com with questions.

You will have the opportunity to select which campus you are applying for in the application checklist. Please note whether you are applying for South (K-6), North Lower (K-6), or North Upper (7-12). The application checklist can be transferred between the South and North Lower School at your request.

As you progress through the application checklist you will be prompted to schedule an interview with each campus principal. A review of all other required materials including the placement assessment (as stated in the application checklist) as an evaluation for grade placement of the student will be considered. In collaboration with the administrative team, the Head of School makes all admissions determinations.

Though not required to be Christians, the parents of students in Dominion must have a clear understanding of the biblical philosophy and purpose of Dominion. This understanding includes a willingness to have their child exposed to the clear teaching (not forced indoctrination) of the school’s Statement of Faith in various and frequent ways within the school’s program.

The parents must be willing to cooperate with the written policies of Dominion. This is most important in the area of discipline (see Discipline Guidelines and Student Conduct Explanations) and school work standards, as well as active communication with the respective teacher(s) and administration.

• School records (not required for kindergarteners)
• Placement assessment (in-person) for those applying to grades K-6
• ISEE test score for those applying to grades 7-12 (The PSAT or CLT are also accepted for those applying to grades 9-12.)

If a child has successfully completed the previous school year and his school work and behavior compare favorably to the comparable grade at Dominion, the child will likely be placed in the grade for which he is applying. However, if through the administration of the Dominion Entrance Tests or other evidence, it is determined that the child may not be adequately prepared for the next sequential grade level, it may be necessary that he repeat the previous grade.

A child must have reached the age of five years by September 1 of the fall in which he or she would be entering Kindergarten.

Please return academic recommendations, spiritual/social reference, a written list of classes and grades, and copies of standardized tests should be attached with the application. If your child has attended a traditional school recently, school records from that school should also be forwarded to Dominion.
