Student Life at Dominion

CULTIVATING
EXPLORATION

“There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry, Mine!”

― Abraham Kuyper

The pursuit of truth, beauty, and goodness is not contained within the four walls of the classroom or the seven hours of the school day. Students participate in a variety of co-curricular activities, from arts and culture to science and technology. Our hope is to cultivate a spirit of eager exploration in the hearts of our students that they might grow to love the world and the One who made it.

The Arts

The Lord our God has provided endless inspiration. Our hope is that our students grow a heightened awareness of the beauty around them and be excited to express it in artistic forms.

Clubs and Activities

Clubs have been formed going back to all ancient civilizations of which we have any knowledge: for instance, the ancient Greek hetereiai or the Roman collegia. Their purpose is to allow people with a common interest to associate despite having no familial ties.

TRAVEL AND ENRICHMENT

Saint Augustine once said, “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.”

Beginning in seventh grade, Dominion’s students gain knowledge through first-hand exploration of history and science.  Throughout their High School years, students will travel to the Chesapeake Bay to investigate its ecology, and they will visit Philadelphia to experience American history.

A few words from our students

I love going to the same school as my younger brother, Hudson! It's such a special way for us to bond, both spiritually and academically. Getting to share Dominion's beloved traditions and memories is one of my favorite things about going here. I can't wait until he is at the Reston campus next year!
