LATIN, MUSIC, & THEATRE SUMMER PROGRAMS
Note: Non-Dominion friends and family members may attend these camps, so please feel free to invite friends from other schools!
(for students entering grades 7-8)
Miss Megan Sweeney
This camp will provide a week-long overview of the Latin basics for new or returning rising seventh and eighth graders. This camp is required for students who are entering Dominion and have not previously taken a Latin class if they would like to receive high school credit for Latin I & Latin II. It is also helpful for students who would like additional review or instruction in Latin over the summer. We will discuss how Latin works as an inflected language and be introduced to how we construct and translate Latin nouns and verbs. All noun endings will be covered as well as all verb tenses. Whether you are new to the language or just need a review, this camp will provide students with the foundation needed to understand new, more nuanced grammar concepts to be discovered in the subsequent school year.
Dates: Monday-Friday, July 16-20, 9:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. (students should plan to bring a lunch)
Location: LS Campus
