Genesis 1:1 says, “In the beginning God created…” God is the Master Artist with infinite creativity. Picture for a moment the minute patterns found under a microscope, the colorful world of the ocean or the expansive view from a mountain top. The Lord our God has provided endless inspiration. Our hope is that our students grow a heightened awareness of the beauty around them and be excited to express it in artistic forms.

Music

Aristotle once stated, “Music has the power of producing a certain effect on the moral character of the soul, and if it has the power to do this, it is clear that the young must be directed to music and educated in it.”  As our classroom curriculum “begins with the end in mind,” so does our music program. We begin with music fundamentals in the lower school first developing a musical ear and being able to identify musical elements in major classical compositions and works.

Drama

Engaging in theatre offers students the opportunity to critique the characters, situations, and stories they examine, and to find themselves in the characters they portray. Theatre for the Kingdom of God is not an opportunity for escapism from the real world, but a redemptive errand through which an actor may find his own strengths, weaknesses, hopes, fears, and his place in the narrative of grace. By reading, memorizing, and performing various works, students will encounter the various worldviews, motivations, and psyches of their characters, and balance them against a Biblical worldview.
