Our Oct 19th concert with Matthew Smith and Indelible Grace was a great joy! We had a great turn-out and proceeds went to the Jack Donaldson Memorial Scholarship Fund. Along with the concert, Matthew Smith spoke that afternoon to our high schoolers about the importance of hymns in the Christian life. We could not agree more with the goal expressed by Matthew Smith:
"We want to be a voice calling our generation back to something rich and solid and beyond the fluff and the trendy. We want to remind God's people that thinking and worship are not mutually exclusive, and that not everything worth knowing happened in the last three years. We want to invite the Church to appreciate her heritage without idolizing it. We want to open up a world of passion and truth and make it more that just an archaic curiosity for the religiously sentimental. We believe worship is formative, and that it does matter what we think." |

Our K to 2nd graders delighted in the sights, sounds and smells of the farm on their annual trip to Cox Farm this year! Climbing hay bales, milking cows, shooting down the giant slide, enjoying a hay ride, romping in the pumpkin patch ... all in a good days work on a beautiful fall day.

On Friday, September 23, DCS said farewell to our long-time friend Sarah Crabtree. As one of the founders of DCS, Sarah has had a huge impact on the school over our 15 year history. Just a sample of her many areas of influence includes time as Principal, significant impact on curriculum development, long-time history teacher, work in the Discovery program and general font of wisdom and love. We wish her well as she and her family move to Charleston, South Carolina. The Lord has blessed so many through her labors of love.

What a wonderful evening we shared together at the DCS Dinner and Fundraiser! The encouraging and entertaining words of Eric Metaxas reminded us of just how vital Classical Christian education is for our children and for our culture at large. We are greatly blessed by the financial contributions and continued prayers in support of the school by so many.
